Tips / Methods To Grow Long Healthy Hair
Hot Oil Treatments
Heating up oils before applying it to the hair help to better penetrate into the scalp and hair shaft. This is great for dry, brittle hair or for anyone trying to grow their hair. It increases blood flow to the scalp helping to improve circulation in return escalating hair grow. Hot oil can remove buildup and dry, flaky skin from the scalp.
Pro Tip!
Do Not heat oil in the microwave. It can destroy key nutrients in the oil that benefit your hair. Place oil in bowl of steaming hot water to heat instead.
Massage oil into scalp thoroughly then hang your head upside down for 15 minutes. This increases blood flow to the head, which increases your chances of hair growth.
Protein Treatments
If your hair is brittle, doesn't spring back when you stretch it / lack of elasticity, limp and stringy, or you have just recently processed or dyed it, you might need a protein treatment. It adds the protein back into your hair follicles, strengthening it and making your hair less prone to breakage and damage.
Pro Tip!
There's so many great, inexpensive protein treatments you can make at home! I love to mix my favorite oils with an egg. Other great ingredients you can use are avocados, mayonnaise, and yogurt. Leave on your hair for 30 minutes before washing out your hair.
Deep Conditioning Mask
If your hair is extremely frizzy, dry, lacks shin, or straw like, you might need a moisturizing deep conditioner. Whether you have straight or curly, healthy or damaged hair, anyone can benefit from hydrating and nourishing your hair regularly. Depending on the condition of your hair, it is recommended to deep condition 2-4 times a month.
Pro Tip!
Put a shower cap or a plastic bag on hair while deep conditioning. It creates heat and steam from your scalp and traps in the moisture. This helps to further penetrate your hair follicle.
Henna / Indigo
When henna is applied to hair properly it can repair split ends, thicken your hair strands, reduces fall out, control unwanted frizz, promotes hair growth, strengthen hair, and controls oil production. The Henna used must be 100% pure organic Henna. Fakes can potentially have a poor reaction to hair and scalp leaving bad results. Use Henna with Amla to maintain and improve curl pattern.
Caution!
Henna naturally dyes hair red or black depending on the type you use. If you dye your hair regularly Henna is not recommended for you. Seek advise from a professional before attempting to use Henna for the first time.
Rice Water
Rich water is rich in vitamin A & E, Zinc, Fiber, and Magnesium. This all natural method makes your hair shinier, stronger, and promotes extreme hair growth. If you do one thing from this list to grow your hair, do this!

Reduce Heat
Reduce the amount of heat being applied to your hair! You do NOT need to straighten your hair everyday! Curly hair is just as beautiful as straight. But if you just can't keep away from heat, here are some tips. Blow Dry hair on low heat or simply air dry. Straighten hair on heat setting under 400 degrees. ALWAYS use a heat protectant. Try heatless over curls like braid outs, twist outs, bantu knots, flexi rods, etc.
Protective Styles
Protective styling is any hair style that keeps your ends safe from damage and tucked away while minimizing manipulation to your hair. Box braids, twists, cornrows, dreads, wigs, and sew-ins are all great examples. Buns are the prefect everyday protective style.
Lock in Moisture
Keep moisture sealed into the hair so it can pennate deep in the hair cuticle. Depending on your hair type you can use the LOC or LCO method, standing for Leave-In, Oil, Cream. This in the order you would use your products to better lock in moisture to your hair. Start off by using a hydrating leave-in conditioner, follow up with your favorite oil (coconut, jojoba, olive), then finish off with a cream product like shea butter cream or a curl enhancing cream.
